As the associate director of administration for the institute, Mr. Don Hough is a member of the executive leadership team and oversees all business operations, including human resources, grants administration, procurement, program management, government relations, accounting, budget, facilities, and contracts. Before accepting this leadership role in 2015, he served as a budget officer and then as the controller for the institute.
Mr. Hough previously served as senior vice president, chief financial officer, and member of the board of directors for LJT & Associates in Columbia, Maryland. There, he led the high-growth business from late start-up into a mid-tier IT and engineering government contractor by developing a strong business infrastructure, establishing and maintaining professional financial and legal relations, and steering business growth decisions. Before that, he was vice president and chief financial officer of MedStar Research Institute/MedStar Health in Maryland, where he managed financial operations for a rapidly growing, highly complex medical research institution. He began his career as a financial analyst at Science Applications International Corporation in McLean, Virginia, and as a financial accountant at American Systems Corporation in Chantilly, Virginia. He earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the State of Maryland in 1997.
