Updated APT 2020.2 Is Available for Cycle 1 Proposal Submissions

On March 10, 2020, as the community is gearing up to work on JWST proposals, APT 2020.2 was released to the public. This is the version to be used for all JWST Cycle 1 proposal submissions, with a deadline of May 1, 2020 for the General Observer (GO) community. GTO and ERS teams have been asked to resubmit their programs with APT 2020.2 no later than March 31, 2020. At that point, GO proposers should check for potential duplications against existing GTO and ERS programs (see JWST Duplication Checking for instructions).

Changes in APT 2020.2 include:

  • Timing changes that improve the fidelity of the overhead model, including a reduction in the time needed for small angle maneuvers (SAMs).
  • More user-friendly scheduling constraint labels in the visit planner.
  • New dither patterns for NIRCam and NIRISS WFSS.

More information on APT 2020.2 updates can be found in JDox.
