Head, Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, and Operations Division
Jennifer Logsdon

As the head of the systems engineering, integration and test, and operations division, Ms. Jennifer Logsdon ensures skilled personnel support all institute programs to guarantee the success of our missions. Her primary focus is to ensure more than 100 employees follow sound engineering methodologies and practices to provide vital services to internal and external stakeholders. Her team’s responsibilities span the entire systems development lifecycle, from inception through operations, which is why she promotes open communication and collaboration across all divisions.

Prior to joining the institute, Ms. Logsdon served as a systems engineering manager at Northrop Grumman Corporation in Linthicum, Maryland, where she worked to increase communication and collaboration with internal and external partners, and acted as a mentor to ensure employees were actively engaged in their careers. She also served in many roles at Textron Systems in Hunt Valley, Maryland, most recently as a quality director, where she worked to improve organizational relationships and increase client satisfaction. She began her career at Textron as an engineer and was quickly promoted to a series of roles as a director after recognition of her strong communication and leadership skills, particularly while leading large, growing teams.

Earlier, she served as a principal research scientist at the Battelle Memorial Institute in Aberdeen, Maryland, where she built a rigorous systems engineering organization, and implemented processes and standards that led to strong business growth. Ms. Logsdon began her career as a systems integration and test manager at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Greenbelt, Maryland, where she led a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and operators to support the Hubble Space Telescope’s operations.

Ms. Logsdon currently holds a Secret clearance from the U.S. Department of State. She regularly volunteers to support law enforcement by participating in and contributing to the Chapter IV of the Police Unity Tour, National Police Week 5K, and American Police Hall of Fame. She also volunteers for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
